Dr. Mirco Kolarczik is founder, managing director and Executive Scientist of WSG Wonderland Systems GmbH.
Mirco Kolarczik studied physics at the University of Konstanz and the Technical University of Berlin and received his diploma in Berlin in 2012. This was followed by a doctorate at the Institute of Optics and Atomic Physics of TU Berlin in the Nonlinear Optics group of Prof. Dr. Ulrike Woggon. There he researched quantum dots, in particular the ultrafast dynamics in mixed-dimensional systems. The focus was the development of a setup for two-dimensional Fourier transform spectroscopy based on heterodyne techniques.
From 2019 Mirco worked as an Application Scientist at Swabian Instruments GmbH in Stuttgart, which rose to become the world market leader for scientific time tagging during that time. The main areas of work were application development, above all in the fields of life science and timing & frequency. This also represented the first contact with White Rabbit applications. He also played a leading role in the development of methods for photon number resolution with individual Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors (SNSPDs). From 2023 he headed the research projects of Swabian Instruments as Head of Research & Applications and built up a team of six physicists.
In 2026 he founded WSG Wonderland Systems GmbH in order to work more intensively on the realisation of complex, network-based measurement systems.
